Bioinformatics is acting as the South Asian Regional Center of
International Legume Database and Information Service (ILDIS), UK
and has established an advanced Phase I Database of Legumes of eight
South Asian countries, namely India, Pakistan , Sri Lanka,
Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal and Maldives in collaboration
with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, UK and University of Reading,
UK under the aegis of ILDIS. As a part of International
collaboration, NBRI Bioinformatics maintains a copy of the World
Database consisting of over 19000 leguminous taxa and is partner in
providing global services like: Legume Web on Internet (http://www.ildis.org),
Legume CD, Legume Disc (providing full and regularly enhanced data
sets to institutional subscribers) and Publications, etc.

The group is establishing
a collaborative Indo-Vietnam Neem program.
Ethnopharmacology & Pharmacy
An Indo-China programme on science and
technology co-operation with the Institute of Medicinal Plants
Development, WHO Collaborating Center for Traditional Medicinal,
Beijing, China is proposed for authentication and standardization of
herbal drugs and their compound formulations.
